The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the framework that governments, business, and civil society use to drive the sustainability agenda. With those goals in mind, UPM Raflatac developed the Biofore Site program that aims to improve the sustainability performance of our production sites. To achieve that, our factory teams create site-specific roadmaps to reach sustainability targets and track progress on a Biofore Site scorecard.
Biofore Site™ program
Sustainability starts at our label material production sites. The Biofore Site program measures factory performance based on nearly 40 indicators.

performance indicators
Measured performance based on United Nations’ SDGs
The scorecard has approximately 40 performance indicators for UPM Raflatac operations. Filled out annually by each site, it touches on common sustainability measures like waste generation, energy consumption and safety performance, as well as some not-so-conventional measures, like supplier sustainability performance, development opportunities for employees, community engagement and measures of diversity.
