Variable Information Labeling
Rapid development of Variable Information Printing (VIP) techniques has considerably increased the use of variable information labels.
Labels used in variable information labeling are either blanks or pre-printed with conventional printing techniques. They are often overprinted using a VIP technique, such as copier, direct thermal, thermal transfer, laser or ink-jet.
Labels are typically in roll form whenever direct thermal and thermal transfer printing is used. Sheeted format is used more and more with copier, laser and ink-jet applications.
