Raflatac, Inc. Rolls into Film Labelstock Production

10/29/2003

Raflatac, Inc. has begun film labelstock production at the company’s state-of-the-art facility in Fletcher, North Carolina.

As PS film consumption steadily increases in the North American marketplace, currently estimated to be growing at twice the rate of PS paper, Raflatac, Inc. builds upon the company’s two-year local manufacturing expertise by introducing a range of PS films that ensure label converters are meeting heightened globablized standards.

Kari Virtanen, Raflatac’s North American Business Development Manager for Films comments, “End-users are demanding high-quality products worldwide.  We’re able to offer the same consistent product around the globe due to our extensive expertise in film labelstock.  We’ve made a commitment to strengthen our position in the North American film market, and we will continue to evaluate our product portfolio and find ways to offer a wider range of value added solutions to our customers.”

PS film products currently comprise an estimated 23 percent of total pressure sensitive labelstock consumption in North America.  Able to draw upon the company’s long established position as a market pioneer and leader in the European film sector, Raflatac, Inc. has research and development targets in place for North America that will enable the company to quickly, and effectively, provide application solutions to their customer base here.  Virtanen continues, “Raflatac has carried out an extensive research and development program targeting the introduction of a fully squeezable film into the North American market.  It has been a long process, but after allocating our global resources to the project, the end result looks promising.”
