UPM Raflatac shines at Labelexpo Europe

This September’s Labelexpo Europe was yet another success for UPM Raflatac. The company’s theme this year was ‘Labeling a New Europe’ to emphasize the position of Europe as the largest and still growing single label market.

UPM Raflatac’s latest and significant 90-million-euro investment in Poland was celebrated during the four-day event. The new pressure sensitives factory, built at the crossroads of western and eastern Europe, will provide fast and comprehensive service to market areas throughout the region.

At Labelexpo, UPM Raflatac also presented a diverse product range from global film materials to demanding special products. An expanding RFID product range was prominently showcased too.

At a seminar arranged in connection with the fair, President of UPM Raflatac Heikki Pikkarainen spoke on the importance of sustainable development in the label business. UPM Raflatac is one of the industry’s pioneers in environmental issues. Also during the seminar, Christer Härkönen gave a presentation on current trends in the RFID business.

The specialty of UPM Raflatac’s spectacular stand was a floor made from the UPM ProFi wood-plastic composite. The main raw material in this new product is surplus from UPM Raflatac’s production.

Labelexpo Europe is the largest gathering in the world of labels, product decoration, web printing and converting. This year's event drew more than 500 exhibitors and almost 25,000 visitors.
