UL Approved Products
Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) is an independent, not-for-profit product safety testing and certification organization. UL has published more than 800 safety standards for various industries.
UL listed products must withstand exposure to elevated temperatures, water immersion and occasionally ultraviolet light and other common agents, such as lubricating oils or detergents.
The labels and label materials are typically evaluated by UL according to the UL969 Standard for Marking and Labeling Systems. Labels and label materials that meet the requirements of UL969 are Recognized Components. UPM Raflatac produces label materials that have been evaluated by UL for many different conditions of use and are now Recognized Components.
Label printers using UPM Raflatac's UL Recognized label materials could, in most cases, reduce the amount of testing required to establish UL Recognition for printed labels.
UPM Raflatac's UL certifications can be viewed and printed out from UL's Online Certification Directory: from the UL website at www.ul.com, click on ‘Certifications’, select the ‘Company Name’ search option and type in ‘Raflatac’.
