RP45
RP45 – a tough contender that washes clean
Information labels just got a new ally, RP45, which adheres to a variety of packaging forms, yet washes off easily with hot alkaline or pure hot water. End-users know that RP45 is the product they can tap again and again for excellent adhesion in applications that require package or container reuse.
This is especially an attribute for grocers, as it enables them to rotate and reuse costly packaging, such as aluminium beer kegs, or recycle plastic clamshells in the existing PET waste stream.
To that extent, UPM Raflatac is proud to announce that it is one of the first companies in the industry to pass the Association of Postconsumer Plastic Recyclers' (APR) new protocol for PET recycling; our SP184W paper labelstock is now approved for use on all PET thermoforms that require recycling.
Products constructed with RP45 adhesive are washable for three months post-packaging. However, washability can be affected by environmental conditions such as extreme humidity, rain or UV exposure.
