Brand owners are pushing their partners to reduce packaging and labelstock weights and volumes. Their mandates have given rise to innovative packaging forms, such as flexible pouches, lighter bottles and new shapes and caps. Meanwhile, labelstocks manufacturers are offering papers made with wood from certified forests and thin films that reduce material usage, while spurring converter productivity.
Other important sustainability goals include increasing the use of renewable materials in product design, decreasing or eliminating toxic materials used in manufacturing, improving recycling rates and decreasing production waste.
