UPM Raflatac at India Label Show 2008: The Label for a New Era

With the theme "The Label for a New Era" at the India Label Show 2008, UPM Raflatac showcases its wide range of paper and film labelstock products for the growing labelling markets in South Asia.

After a large global investment program with three new factories around the world, UPM Raflatac's service network is now tuned up to provide the customers high quality service with advanced and innovative products. Since the new slitting and distribution terminal in Mumbai was opened in 2007, the number of UPM Raflatac employees in India has doubled and sales are showing a strong upward trend. From the new terminal UPM Raflatac is now able to provide shorter delivery times and a diverse range of labelstock products for the label converters in India.

RaflexPlus – a clear and squeezable film for home and personal care labelling
At the forefront in the India Label Show, UPM Raflatac presents the Raflex Plus, a thin and clear, top coated polyolefin film that combines the best of PP and PE. At 56 micron thin, Raflex Plus offers good flexibility on squeezable substrates, and with its exceptional printability for very fine print resolution Raflex Plus is ideal for high-quality product labels in home and personal care applications. Raflex Plus White is designed for applications where squeezability and conformability is required, and to that Raflex Plus Clear adds the high transparency and excellent clarity for a no label look.

Strong and durable adhesion with RP 51
Also highlighted in the India Label Show is the permanent acrylic adhesive RP 51 which provides strong, durable adhesion for paper labelstocks to common substrates including non-polar surface, films and corrugated board. RP 51 is suitable for general use in permanent product and information labelling and also for food labelling in chilled areas, as it has good adhesion to PP and OPP. It can tolerate a certain amount of moisture on the substrate during the labelling process. Acrylic adhesives have generally good aging and UV-resistance properties. RP 51 also gives excellent cold and ice bucket performance for glass substrate beverage labelling.

Special materials for pharmaceutical and health care labelling
One of the main topics in India Label Show is also pharmaceutical labelling. For the demanding and varying needs of the pharmaceutical industry, UPM Raflatac offers a broad range of labelstock products for product and information labelling. UPM Raflatac's special label materials have been put through extensive assessments such as migration studies and stability tests, and customers have access to the technical information sheets, approvals and certifications for the products.
