Process Engineer, Coating
UPM Raflatac is looking to recruit a
Process Engineer, Coating
to be responsible for day to day activities on the coating machine and adhesive mixing, including volume produced, achieved quality level and run-ability of raw material. Planning of maintenance and long term process development work in cooperation with Coating Manager.
Your main tasks will include:
- Evaluate run-ability of raw materials, report problems and forward claims to the suppliers. Raw material development, work in cooperation with Coating Manager and Technical Assistance.
- Will have responsibility for coating operations, adhesive mixing, and cleaning operations.
- Evaluate and respond to customer claims and plan corrective actions in order to prevent the problem from recurring.
- May visit customers and suppliers to identify issues and work toward resolution.
- Process development and coordination of maintenance of the coating machine in cooperation with the maintenance team and Coating Manager
- Implementation and control over working procedures in coating and cleaning in cooperation with Coating Manager.
- Other tasks specified in the Quality System.
- Maintain appropriate documentation related to processes, performance, etc., analyze as appropriate to determine and capitalize on best practices.
- Perform all duties in full compliance of all laws, safety and environmental regulations, and in a manner consistent with company policies and procedures.
Our expectations from you are:
- Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to BS in Engineering (Material Science, Chemical, or Mechanical) and 1 - 2 relevant experience in paper or paper converting industry.
- Must have good understanding of mechanical requirements of relevant machinery (preferably newer, high-technology systems).
- Must have demonstrated analytical / logical problem-solving ability, while demonstrating inventiveness and initiative.
- Must have excellent communication skills, and the ability to relate well to a wide range of constituents.
- Must be able to function well as a member of a team.
- Previous project team experience preferred.
- Previous HazMat exposure is helpful.
You will be based in Fletcher, NC, USA and report to the Coating Manager.
