Das Integrieren von RFID-Tags in das Etikett oder auch in das Kleidungsstück selbst ist ein wertvolles Instrument für Markenartikler. Ein bei der Herstellung eingefügter Transponder kann die Herkunft eines Kleidungsstücks identifizieren. Die unverwechselbare Kennung (ID) beweist die Authentizität des Kleidungsstücks und ermöglicht Identifizierung und Überwachung von Fälschungen. Illegale Importe können durch Einsatz des Herkunftsnachweises erkannt werden. RFID-Tags ermöglichen die Übersicht über die Bestände in der gesamten Lieferkette und helfen dadurch Warenschwund und Bestandslücken zu vermeiden.
