Extension at Polinya

The new building will include an area for finishing operations, a jumbo warehouse and a coil warehouse. All slitting activities will be housed under one roof, together with new finishing machinery such as a packing line and an automatic warehouse. Raflatac's old terminal in Terrassa will continue operations until the new finishing extension is ready at the Polinyá mill. The aim is to have all operations under one roof at the beginning of 2002, while making sure that there's enough slitting capacity throughout the project. Installation of the automatic warehouse starts this autumn.

The Polinyá factory specializes in Special and A4 products. The A4 products are exported to southern Europe and the USA. The terminal at Polinyá serves both the factory itself and a larger area, being Raflatac's distribution centre for Spain and southern France.
