Raflatac increases selling prices

28.6.2000

Raflatac increases the selling prices of its self-adhesive laminates in Europe due to the raised raw material costs.

Various factors affecting the self-adhesive laminate business have continued to develop to the same direction that they have followed for the last year. Since January this year the price of pulp has further increased and the value of the Euro against the US dollar has continued to drop. Transport costs have been affected by rising oil prices, which has also had an effect on the cost of the chemicals used in adhesives and silicones.
In addition, the major suppliers of the self-adhesive laminate industry are suffering from a shortage of capacity. Consequently Raflatac is facing significant increases in the raw material purchase prices.

Raflatac's selling prices will increase by 4 % on synthetics and by 6 % on paper-based products, as from 1 September 2000.
