UPM Raflatac introduces the Thin Range
23.9.2009UPM Raflatac is presenting a new range of thin paper and film products at Labelexpo Europe 2009. The Thin Range comprises ten thinner labelstocks providing the opportunity to switch to longer roll lengths for fewer roll changes and more labels per roll.
For the first time, the Thin Range offers combinations with a new PP30 liner for major applications such as food, retail and logistics. Available with a range of market-leading paper faces, PP30 brings all the advantages of a thin film liner to high-volume paper applications.
Delivering clear efficiency gains throughout the label chain, combinations with the PP30 liner offer more labels per reel, a reduced material weight and more options to liner recycling. Excellent print register, moisture resistance and greater tensile strength enhance efficiency both on press and during dispensing.
For beverage and home & personal care labelling, the Thin Range offers a competitive PET25 liner in place of a standard paper liner with PE and PP faces. Thin and strong, PET25 provides an improved adhesive profile which gives even PE a clearer appearance.
The Thin Range also features a selection of thinner Lite paper faces coupled with a thin Honey Glassine 50 liner for better functionality and performance.
Thin PP and PET liners for high-speed applications
Most of the combinations in the Thin Range are supplied with film liners offering several benefits. With improved tensile strength, UPM Raflatac’s PP30 and PET25 liners provide better performance in high-speed applications and contribute to a reduction in web breaks and fewer roll changes due to their low caliper.
These liners are perfect for applications where moisture is present and reduce the risk of loose coils. An even thickness profile promises more consistent die-cutting and better winding quality, while a smoother adhesive profile contributes to higher label clarity and improved adhesive surface printing.
