New UPM Raflatac film lamination line fully operational in Europe

12.12.2006

UPM Raflatac’s new European film lamination line is now fully operational and delivering to label converters. The lamination line doubles UPM Raflatac’s labelstock production capacity for films in the region and further strengthens the company’s position in the growing film labelstock market.

“UPM Raflatac has succeeded excellently with the aim set a few years ago to seek strong growth in films. This sizeable investment in new production capacity shows our continued commitment to serving our customers and meeting their growing needs for high-quality film products,” says Jan-Erik Forsström, Senior Vice President, Europe.

The new lamination line enables the production of thinner films for the various demanding needs of brand owners in the personal care and beverage industries, among others. The design of the new coating line is founded on proprietary technology with a special emphasis on cleanliness to meet today’s market demand for high-quality filmic pressure sensitive materials.
