Raflatac at Labelexpo Asia 2005
7.12.2005The exhibition will also be a fitting occasion to celebrate Raflatac’s long-term commitment to the region following a recent announcement to invest in a new state-of-the-art production facility in China.
UPM Rafsec, a world-leading RFID tag manufacturer and pioneer of the EPC standard, will also be present. UPM Rafsec’s Business Development Manager for China, Mr Hong Liu, will speak on the latest developments in RFID and growth opportunities for smart labels in China, on Friday, December 9, from 11:00 to 11:30.
New facility responds to global and local needs
Raflatac recently announced the construction of a world-class pressure sensitive labelstock production facility in Changshu in the Jiangshu province, adjacent to UPM’s existing paper mill. The new USD 40 million production unit is scheduled to begin operations in the beginning of 2007 and will supply paper and filmic labelstock for standard and special applications. New technologies and advanced process management will enable Raflatac to broaden its product range and respond to increasingly demanding labelling needs.
Raflatac aims to become the pressure sensitive supplier of choice in Asia by extending its full product range and highest quality service into China. The company currently has production in Shanghai, a terminal in Tianjin and a sales office in Beijing. Other factories in the Asia-Pacific region are located in Malaysia and Australia.
Quality products for diverse needs
Raflatac’s exhibition presence highlights new and innovative materials that cater to growing demand for thin materials and an enhanced no-label look which is becoming the expression of choice particularly in the personal care industry. Raflatac is well equipped for this market with a large portfolio of pressure sensitive labelstock including the highly successful Raflaclear. Through continued development work, Raflatac is also ideally positioned to offer a range of products that meet requirements for style and functionality in the growing beverage segment.
