Raflatac to participate in Latin American Label Summit
12.4.2004Lähepelto’s address will highlight current trends in the Latin American pressure sensitive labeling industry with a special focus on the Mexican market. He will examine issues such as globalization, pressure sensitive growth opportunities and Mexico’s unique position within the global pressure sensitive decoration marketplace.
Lähepelto comments, “It is a real honor to be asked to deliver the keynote address at this important industry event. The Mexican pressure sensitive labeling industry has persevered through the ongoing impact of increasing globalization standards, NAFTA’s repercussions and recent economic downturn in the United States. Raflatac views Mexico as one of the most important regions in the Americas, and we will continue to dedicate resources to the Mexican marketplace.”
As Mexican label printers face the mounting pressures of globalized standards, they have to increasingly look to their label material suppliers for the service and products needed assist them in paper-to-film product migrations and the challenges of printing multiple print processes on higher-performing material grades.
Kari Virtanen, Raflatac’s Film Development Director, will also be presenting at the Label Summit’s conference, targeting the pressure sensitive film sector. Other presentation topics at the Summit’s two-day conference include digital printing and RFID, inks, package decoration trends and press technology. The first forum of its kind ever to be held in Latin America, the Latin American Label Summit presents both industry suppliers, and Mexican label printers, with an invaluable opportunity to exchange information and establish across-border partnerships.
