Raflatac builds a new terminal to Tatabánya, Hungary

16.6.2003

In response to increasing demand in central and eastern Europe, Raflatac has made a decision to build a new terminal and sales office in Tatabánya, Hungary. The new terminal should begin operations during the first quarter of 2004.

The new terminal will cause some restructuring within the existing terminal and office network. Raflatac’s current Hungarian operations within UPM-Pack Kft in Budapest will be transferred to Tatabánya. The Vienna terminal in Schwechat, Austria will also be gradually moved to Tatabánya. The Austrian sales office will remain near Vienna in different premises.

The city of Tatabánya, near Tata, is located alongside the new highway that runs between Budapest and Vienna, about 50 kilometres from Budapest and 180 kilometres from Vienna.

Raflatac is convinced that this new facility will offer a further improved service to central and eastern European customers. The investment will also release slitting capacity from Raflatac’s other European terminals to improve their service on the local level.
