Keynote press conference with Jussi Vanhanen

The event was kicked off with a keynote press conference on Wednesday morning. The press conference was opened by Roger Pellow, Managing Director of the Labelexpo Global Series, and followed by a brief overview of the commercial opportunities and threats facing the sector today by Mike Fairley, Director of Strategic Development, Labelexpo Global Series. FINAT President Kurt Walker (tesa Bandfix, CH) elaborated on the role of the association in supporting the future development of the self-adhesive label industry.

The line-up also included UPM Raflatac President Jussi Vanhanen delivering UPM Raflatac’s findings from a specially commissioned survey into the industry and the potential and challenges of the self-adhesive labeling market both in developed markets (Europe, North America) as well as emerging markets (South America, Asia). The presentation looked at opportunities how to continue to grow and develop the self-adhesive business also during volatile economic times.

This year’s Labelexpo features daily Digital Print Workshops which compare print quality and performance across different printing processes, using material from different labelstock manufacturers.
