UPM Raflatac launches new HF products with Infineon my-d light IC

15.1.2008

UPM Raflatac is pleased to announce the immediate availability of four new HF RFID tags equipped with Infineon my-d light ICs. The my-d light product range comprises two tags for books, one for CDs which is specially suited for media management applications, and one small product for item-level applications, e.g. for tagging pharmaceuticals.

All UPM Raflatac RFID tags designated for library applications offer superior performance at low cost, and the two new book tags (50 x 50 mm and 49 x 81 mm) are also covered by UPM Raflatac’s lifetime guarantee. The new tag with a form factor of 14 x 31 mm combines a long read-range with minimal dimensions perfect for pharmaceutical, medical and other item-level applications.

my-d light ICs are ISO/IEC 15693-3 (ISO 18000-3 mode 1) compliant and offer a long read range, 576-bit memory, innovative Advanced Quiet Mode (AQM) for higher anti-collision rates, a lock for each user memory block and AFI byte.

“We believe it’s important for customers to have a choice in the products they buy. Offering the my-d light IC in the media management product range does just that. It has been a pleasure working with the Infineon team on this product development, which I believe will open many opportunities in the RFID world,” comments Mr Malcolm Collins, Global Business Development Manager, Media Management & Transportation, RFID at UPM Raflatac.
