New terminal in Thailand4.6.2007
UPM Raflatac has opened a new slitting and distribution terminal in Bangkok, Thailand. The occasion was celebrated in May with local customers and end-users. The event included a seminar featuring representatives from printing machine supplier Nilpeter, inks supplier Xsys Print Solution, prepress supplier Ruamzub and finishing machine supplier Leomat, who spoke about the development and requirements of their businesses. A representative from Colgate-Palmolive (Thailand) Ltd. discussed what end-users require from lablestock suppliers and label converters.
The new Bangkok terminal provides slitting facilities for UPM Raflatac’s filmic and paper labelstocks. It also strengthens the company’s delivery capabilities to customers in the region.
UPM Raflatac is investing heavily in the region’s labelling business. Since spring 2006, new terminals have also been opened in Guangzhou, China and Jakarta, Indonesia. The grand opening of the world-class pressure sensitive labelstock production facility in Changshu, China was celebrated in spring 2007. UPM Raflatac currently operates factories in the Asia-Pacific region in China, Malaysia and Australia. Extensive local service is provided through a broad network of sales offices and terminals.
